Our World Montessori Celebrates a Permanent Home 22 Years in the Making
Our World Montessori marked an exciting new chapter with a ribbon cutting celebrating its new permanent home in Niskayuna. After 22 years of serving families and 15 years of searching for a place to call its own, the school now has a facility designed to support its continued growth and expand access to high-quality early education.
The new home represents far more than a change of address. The facility expands opportunities for local families, including infant care, while giving classrooms direct access to a natural outdoor setting. It provides a lasting foundation for Head of School Diane Lanci, her team, and the Our World Montessori community to continue serving children and families for generations to come.
The journey to a permanent home required persistence and collaboration. Brooke Spraragen helped lead the effort through site selection, municipal approvals, financing coordination, and an accelerated construction process after the school’s previous lease was not renewed. The project brought together Spraragen Partners, Re4orm Architecture, Capital Bank, Metroplex, Empire State Development, and the Town of Niskayuna, with the new facility coming together in about 100 days.
The celebration also welcomed elected and community leaders who offered their congratulations and support, including Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, and Niskayuna Town Supervisor Erin Cassady-Dorion. Members of the Town Planning Board and county legislators were also on hand to recognize the milestone and celebrate the school’s investment in its future.
The ribbon cutting highlighted the important role early childhood education plays in a strong community and economy. By providing dependable care and education for children, Our World Montessori supports families, working parents, and the regional workforce. Its new permanent home ensures that mission has room to grow.
